Hi, I’m Alicia — Founder of Daughter for Hire ♡
Meet Alicia –
Why We Honor Every Senior Like Family
Because the people who raised us built this country and sacrificed everything.
They deserve to be celebrated — not just cared for.
It’s the victory lap of a life well-lived.
Our parents and grandparents worked tirelessly, loved fiercely, and sacrificed quietly so we could have the lives we do today. They
are the real heroes—the silent builders of everything we hold dear.
That’s why I created Daughter for Hire.
My journey began suddenly, like it does for so many families. My mother suffered two strokes. My beloved mother-in-law lived with Alzheimer’s until she passed. Today, my mother is in long-term care, and my 94-year-old father-in-law lives with advancing dementia.
Like many families, I became part of the sandwich generation—raising children while caring for aging parents. No one is ever truly ready. One day you’re building a career and a family, and the next you’re navigating Ontario’s complex care system, hospital discharges, waitlists, and life-changing decisions.
I’ve lived the late-night worries, endless phone calls, fear of falls, emotional exhaustion—and the deep love that keeps us going even when we feel depleted.
I’ve also been fortunate to travel to over 25 countries across South America, Central America, North America, and Europe. These experiences immersed me in different cultures, languages, and traditions.
Spanish is my mother tongue—the language of my childhood, my family’s stories, and the warmth that shaped my heart. These global experiences taught me the beauty of human connection across borders and inspire everything we do—from matching caregivers by heritage to helping seniors rediscover the joy of travel, whether it’s a local outing or a dream trip abroad.
Through it all, one truth became clear: Our elders deserve more than just help.
They deserve joy, laughter, and meaningful moments.
That means visits filled with music, dancing, baking, knitting, watching funny videos, or connecting with loved ones overseas using technology like WhatsApp. Care should feel personal—never clinical.
Every relationship begins with a free in-home consultation, where we ask:
- What brings you joy?
- What did you love doing when you were younger?
We are not a cookie-cutter service. We design care that reflects who your loved one truly is.
Daughter for Hire is built to feel as close as real daughter’s care. Every team member is personally hand-picked by me, U-First!® certified for compassionate dementia support, and fully vetted with vulnerable sector checks. Safety is non-negotiable—always.
My mission is fierce: To guide families through this chapter with compassion, clarity, and celebration. To help you navigate the system I learned the hard way. And most importantly—to help you cherish the precious time you have left with laughter and love.
When you choose Daughter for Hire, you’re not booking a service.
You’re giving a legend the standing ovation—and the joyful moments—they’ve earned.
